Libraries or other organizations that maintain collections of books, magazines and other reading materials in languages other than English and make them available on a loan basis to community residents who need or prefer to read in a foreign language.

Genealogical Collections

Libraries or other organizations that maintain collections of materials which can be used for genealogical research including previous genealogical studies, publicly released census data and back volumes of local telephone books and city directories.

High Interest/Low Vocabulary Collections

Libraries or other organizations that maintain collections of reading materials which are especially designed for youth who have reading problems, adults who are new readers, adults learning to read and/or adult ESL students who are not accustomed to reading in English. The books address topics of interest to adolescents and adults but utilize a vocabulary that is normally appropriate for younger people.

Large Print Materials/Collections

Libraries or other organizations that maintain collections of books, magazines and other reading materials in a large type format that are made available on a loan basis to residents of the community who have visual impairments. Also included are organizations that distribute copies of large print books, magazines and other reading material that people can keep.
